The BAGAL project (Bridging the AI Gap in Adult Education) was created in response to a very concrete need: many adult educators are aware that artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing their work, yet they often lack the time, support, or opportunities to use it systematically and, above all, with confidence.
The project brings together partners from Slovenia and Germany. Together, we are developing practical ways of making artificial intelligence more accessible to adult educators in a clear, understandable, and responsible way. Our focus is on solutions that support the preparation of learning content, make educational planning easier, assist work with participants, and free up some valuable time.
We believe that artificial intelligence in education should serve people — not the other way around. For this reason, we are not only developing content and tools, but also building a supportive environment: open educational resources, online training courses, practical AI assistants, and a community in which adult educators are not left to navigate these changes on their own.
We pay particular attention to those who have fewer opportunities to access new knowledge. This includes educators from rural areas, those with limited digital experience, and those who do not have systemic support in their professional environment. It is important to us to bring the world of artificial intelligence closer also to educators who have had little contact with technology so far.
Through the project, we aim to offer adult educators a space for learning, testing new solutions, and exchanging practical experience. We are creating an environment in which the use of artificial intelligence is ethical, inclusive, and focused on the real needs of adult education.
Our goal is not only to spread knowledge about artificial intelligence, but also to help adult educators use it in their work more confidently, thoughtfully, and creatively.
