Online training course for adult educators

This practical three-day training is designed for adult educators who want to understand AI, try out useful tools and discover how AI can support their everyday teaching, planning and communication — in a responsible, inclusive and manageable way. The training is aligned with the  UNESCO AI competency frameworks/guidance and the EU AI Act, supporting ethical, transparent, human-centred and non-discriminatory use of AI in adult education.

Day 1: Understanding AI: Trust, Prompts & Responsible Use

 

The first session helps adult educators understand how AI works and how to use it responsibly. Participants will explore what AI can and cannot do, when to trust its outputs, and how to recognise risks such as bias, misinformation, privacy issues and overreliance on AI. They will also learn how to write better prompts for more useful, transparent and ethical results.

What does the training include?

  • understanding the basic principles of generative AI,

  • recognising the possibilities and limitations of AI in adult education,

  • exploring ethical, transparent and human-centred AI use,

  • identifying bias, stereotypes, misinformation and possible inaccuracies in AI outputs,

  • considering privacy, data protection and responsible use of learner information,

  • writing effective prompts for teaching, planning and communication.

Day 2: Meet Your AI Teaching Assistants

 

The second session is focused on hands-on exploration. Participants will test practical AI assistants and tools that can support planning, learner engagement, multilingual communication, accessibility, feedback and everyday teaching tasks — while keeping AI use inclusive, transparent and educator-led.

AI can make work easier, but it also raises important questions about bias, fairness, privacy, and its impact on different groups of learners. This course places particular emphasis on the ethical and inclusive use of AI in educational practice.

What does the training include?

  • exploring ready-to-use AI assistants for educators,

  • using AI for lesson planning, materials and learner support,

  • trying tools for feedback, assessment and engagement,

  • exploring multilingual and accessibility features,

  • adapting AI tools to different adult learning contexts,

  • reflecting on responsible and inclusive use of AI-supported tools.

Day 3: Making AI Work for You

 

The final session connects AI skills with real educational work. Participants will explore how AI can help save time, reduce repetitive tasks, support assessment and feedback, and create more manageable workflows — while keeping the educator in control.

Particular emphasis is placed on prompt-writing skills for AI tools, as well as on opportunities to make work processes more efficient.

  • improving feedback and assessment processes with AI support,

  • choosing the right tool for the right purpose,

  • organising personal AI-supported workflows,

  • exploring project resources, OERs and sustainable ways to continue using AI.
